When I decided to move on to serious with my astronomy, I decided to get a decent harware to support it. When I thouht about what telescope would be the ideal for me, I considered them all: Reflector, refractor, SCT, EQ-Newton, Dobson, you name it. I wanted to make an versatile "all-around" purchase. A telescope which could be good for deepsky and planetary purposes and a mount that could be used in photography and visual purposes. I just could not make up my mind. Finally I saw the light (or a dim fuzzy if you prefer). What I really wanted, was deepky visual observing. From this point, everything was easy: Dobson and as much aperture as I could afford. In Eyepieces, there is only one manufacturer. Televue. Now, I think I have a somewhat ideal set of eyepieces. - 24mm Panoptic for widefield deepsky, - 13mm Nagler for globulars, medium sized galaxies and larger planetaries. - 9mm Nagler which is ideal for smaller galaxies. - 4mm Radian for smaller planetaries. I have been more than happy with my eyepieces, I have nothing bad to say about them. I can say that these are all that I need or want. That is a good point when you buy good quality-quality factor eyepieces instead of good money-quality factor eyepieces.
